Today, our fantastic Year 3s completed their Music unit, “Developing Singing Technique”, and what a journey it has been!
Throughout the unit, the children have been working hard to sing in time with others, developing their confidence and teamwork skills. They have also needed to recognise and use simple rhythmic notation to help them compose and perform their very own Viking song!
We are so proud of how they’ve grown as performers – showing great focus, enthusiasm and creativity. 🛡️🎵

💜 Sacramental Preparation – Reconciliation 💜🙏
Today, our children took part in their second session of preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
We explored the difference between good and bad choices, reflecting on how the decisions we make each day can either bring us closer to God or distance us from Him.
Through the Scripture story of Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1–10), we learnt that Jesus loves us even when we make mistakes and that it is never too late to make a fresh start. Just as Zacchaeus recognised his wrong choices and changed his ways, we too are called to say sorry, seek forgiveness and choose to follow Jesus.
The children reflected on how their words and actions affect others and how making loving, kind and thoughtful choices helps us grow closer to God.
A beautiful reminder that God's love and forgiveness are always there for us and that every day is an opportunity to make good choices and follow Jesus.

🌍🌿 Caring for God's Creation – Year 3 RE 🌿🌍
Today in RE, Year 3 have been reflecting on their learning from our Creation and Covenant branch.
The children delivered fantastic oracy presentations, showcasing their understanding of what it means to be stewards of God's creation and why we all have a responsibility to care for the wonderful world God has entrusted to us. 🌎💚
We also explored ecological virtues, thinking about how qualities such as gratitude, respect, responsibility and self-control can guide us in making choices that protect and care for our common home.
Through their presentations, the children demonstrated that even the smallest actions can make a big difference and that caring for creation is one way we can put our faith into action.

🥣 🌍 Year 3 Catholic Life Pledge 🌍 🥣
As part of our Catholic Life Pledge, Year 3 took part in CAFOD’s Family Fast Day.
The children stood in solidarity with people around the world who do not have enough food to eat by replacing one of their usual meals with a simple bowl of soup. 🥣
This simple act helped us to think about how fortunate we are and to remember our responsibility to care for our global family. It was a meaningful way for the children to put their faith into action and live out the Catholic Social Teaching principle of Solidarity. 💚🌎
We are so proud of our Year 3 children for showing compassion and thinking of others through their actions.

🎭📚✨ National Poetry Day 2026 ✨📚🎭
This morning, we celebrated National Poetry Day with a fantastic whole-school assembly, and what a performance it was! 🌟
Each year group took to the stage to perform a poem they had been rehearsing during their Readers’ Theatre sessions. From wonderful expression and clear voices to brilliant actions and confident performances, our children absolutely brought the words to life! 🎤👏 Their fantastic oracy skills were on full display and we were so proud of every single performer. ❤️
