What a lovely day it was for our EYFS picnic! We enjoyed the fun of eating outside and sharing news and ideas with our friends.

Reception had a great day learning about different careers. We enjoyed being doctors, hairdressers, construction workers, artists, writers and teachers! We finished the day learning all about the vocation of a priest. #careersstm #rshestm #restm #eyfsstm … See MoreSee Less

All of us in St Joseph’s hope that the dads and grandad enjoyed their lunch in school today, and enjoy Father’s Day at the weekend. Thank you to the catering staff for their hard work!

Over the past two weeks Reception have been thinking about ‘Past and Present’ inspired by a picture of an old kitchen in a book we read. We have been lucky enough to loan a box of objects from The Potteries Museum. A big than you to Mrs McDonagh for sorting this out for us! The children have enjoyed trying to guess what some of the objects were for, trying to spot them in old black and white photographs and then matching them up with modern day equivalents. We finished off by having our own ‘Washday’ outside. We have learned a lot.

As you know, last week Reception were lucky enough to have a visit from Rent-a-beast. This tied in with World Environment Day. We decided our final Catholic Life pledge for this year would link to Stewardship of God’s Creation so we made Bug Hotels for the minibeasts in our outdoor area. Scroll through the photos and see the finished results.
