Year 2 took part in an exciting opportunity for local history week. We explored who Philip Astley was, how he created the modern day circus and learnt some amazing circus skills. We hoola hooped, spun plates and used a diablo. What a fabulous afternoon 🎪🤡 #year2stm #historystm … See MoreSee Less

Year 2 had a brilliant time at Brampton museum taking part in a Florence Nightingale workshop. We enjoyed listening all about Florence’s life as a nurse and even got to put bandages on as if we were soldiers and nurses in the Crimean war. Thank you to the PTFA for funding part of the trip and thanks to the parents for the remaining contribution. #historystm #year2stm #ptfastm … See MoreSee Less

Last week, Year 2 had the pleasure of visiting the local library. We listened to Terry read Class two at the zoo before exploring the books on offer. Those with a library card were able to borrow a book to take home. Staffordshire Libraries thank you for a fabulous afternoon reading! #readingstm #year2stm … See MoreSee Less

Today, we were delighted to welcome our Year 2 parents into the classroom to take part in a Power Maths lesson alongside their children.
Together, we explored halves and quarters using a range of practical resources, including paper strips, counters, whiteboards and tens frames. It was fantastic to see such enthusiasm and teamwork as everyone got hands-on with their learning!
We also discussed the important role of the denominator and how it tells us how many equal parts a whole needs to be divided into.
Thank you to all the parents who joined us – your support makes a real difference!
Here are some of our favourite comments:
'The class was very interactive. The teacher was very engaging'
'It's provided me with some lovely insight so I can continue with this approach at home'
'It was nice to see how happy and confident the children are'
