During this learning block, Year 2 have been exploring the Music unit 'Musical Storytelling: Instruments'. Throughout the unit, the children discovered how music can bring a story to life by using different instruments, tempos and dynamics to represent characters, events and emotions.
They learned to identify changes in tempo and dynamics, explaining how music matched different parts of a story, and made thoughtful musical choices to create mood and atmosphere.
To finish the unit, Year 2 worked together to rehearse and perform their own musical storytelling pieces, playing confidently with appropriate instrumental sounds, tempo and dynamics.

A huge thank you to our former pupil, Harry Hughes, for taking the time to visit our school and inspire our children. As a child, Harry was told he would never be able to kick a football because of his visual impairment. He proved just how wrong that prediction was by playing in the FA Disability Cup Final, live on TNT Sports, and helping his team become the first partially sighted team in history to win the quadruple. 🤩
Harry’s journey is a powerful reminder that determination and resilience can overcome incredible challenges, and he is a truly inspirational role model for our children.
