“A better world is possible thanks to technological progress, if this is accompanied by an ethic inspired by a vision of the common good, an ethic of freedom, responsibility and fraternity, capable of fostering the full development of people in relation to others and to the whole of creation.”
Pope Francis
What Ofsted said about computing at St. Mary’s:
“Pupils said that they enjoy their learning because their teachers plan interesting lessons that challenge them across the curriculum. For example, pupils told inspectors how they have enjoyed special days when mathematics is taught through PE and how they are learning to speak French and create their own computer games.”
🌍Part two of Year 6’s trip to Lyme Valley involved asking the general public to complete surveys, created by the class, about the local area. The surveys focused on why people came to Lyme Valley, how they got to Lyme Valley, what they enjoyed about the park and what they would improve.
In total, the children managed to interview a whopping 51 members of the public! After collecting the data, using Google Forms, we analysed it and shared our opinions on the findings. A huge thank you to anyone who stopped to complete our survey. Check out some of the results!🌍

Wow, great work year six!
🗺️Today, Year 6 visited Lyme Valley to study the tributary that leads to the River Trent as part of their Geography topic ‘Our Local Area’ . They used the iPads to photograph the local wildlife and nature. Afterwards, they created their own PicCollage to analyse next week! Check out their PicCollages! We’re so impressed! After all of their effort, working like geographers, they earned a well-deserved play on the park! 🗺️
