Well done to you all!!
Well done
A huge thanks to Liv from Bee Active who came to visit Year 6 today. This afternoon, Year 6 combined Science and PE to learn all about the muscular system as part of their ‘animals, including humans’ unit. To start them off, Liv gave an informative talk about the important muscles in our bodies such as biceps, quads and abdominals. She then supported the children in creating their own workouts, which allowed them to target all the muscles they had learnt about! Thanks Liv! 🐝💪🏼 #scienestm #pestm #year6stm … See MoreSee Less

Over the past few weeks, Year Six have embarked on their new art unit. So far, they have explored Mayan symbolism and discovered their own spiritual companions. From this, they then created symbols that would represent their personality. They used these symbols to create an individual piece of Mayan inspired artwork which incorporated a range of medium.
As part of their studies, the children experimented with a various pencil types as well as charcoal, ink and water colour paint. Straws, toothbrushes and paintbrushes were used to apply the media.

📚Today, the Year 6 librarians took part in Y6’s Catholic Life Pledge which focused on restocking the Woodland Library at school utilising Newcastle’s charity shops! This pledge not only supported our local charities but also was a great way to sustainably stock up on books and support CAFOD’s Live Simply campaign. The librarians managed to purchase 268 books for our library! After visiting so many shops and carrying all of the books, they were treated to a hot chocolate for their hard work! Thank you to the PTFA for funding our pledge.
The librarians were stopped by a member of the public who was blown away by their behaviour and then was wowed to find out about our Catholic Life Pledge! She was so impressed that she even donated three books to our cause! Thank you so much! 📚 #year6stm #catholiclifestm #readingstm #readingforpleasurestm #ptfastm Oxfam PDSA Cancer Research UK Air Ambulance Dougie Mac … See MoreSee Less

🙏 Epiphany Liturgy 🙏
Thank you to Elizabeth, Sam, Cameron and Zofia for leading our Epiphany themed liturgy today. Hearing the story of the Wise Men and how they travelled such a distance to see baby Jesus reminded us of how we need to continue on our journeys in faith – getting ever closer to Him. It was also interesting to contemplate what gift we would present the Lord with if we were to visit the stable.
