Competition- If you were an engineer what would you do?
This year the children at St Mary’s entered the Leaders awards competition, ‘If you were an engineer what would you do?’. The children designed solutions to every day problems and world wide issues including: reusable shopping bags that never rip, machines to clean up the oceans, dissolving packaging and a drone to deliver food to the people of Ukraine.
We were delighted to be invited to an awards ceremony and exhibition at Coventry University to celebrate Aysia-Marie’s achievement in being one of the year 2 winners for the west central region.
Well done to everybody who took part!
This half term, Year 4 have been busy designing, building and testing their very own slingshot cars as part of their DT unit. From sketching out their ideas to measuring, cutting and assembling the final designs, the children have shown amazing creativity and teamwork.
