πŸ’› Act of Kindness πŸ’›

Pippa in Year 6’s godmother kindly donated her own beautifully illustrated book, Winnie the Pooh: Five Little Bees, to St Mary’s Reception classes. What a compassionate and generous gesture. Reception absolutely loved it and were so excited to explore the story and look at the amazing illustrations together! 🍯🐝

We are so grateful to Pippa and her family for sharing this special gift with our school community, reminding us of the joy of giving and the love we show one another. πŸ“šβœ¨πŸ―

Today, in our Celebration of God’s Gifts assembly, Mrs Whitfield found herself in a wonderful dilemma. She simply couldn’t choose just one child for the coveted Oracy Certificate in St Peter, because every single pupil has been sensational this week. In the end, the only solution was to give a certificate to everyone!

The use of Oracy stem sentences, confident actions and enthusiastic participation in lessons has been incredible. The children have truly blown her socks off.

Keep up the fantastic work, St Peter. We are so proud of you! πŸ‘βœ¨ #year6stm #oracystm

Today, we were delighted to welcome parents into school to share in a beautiful Celebration of the Word with our Year 6 children. Together we reflected on the story of The Woman at the Well and its message of acceptance, forgiveness and new beginnings.

It was wonderful to come together in prayer and reflection as a school community. Thank you to all the parents who joined us and helped make the celebration so special.

This afternoon, our fantastic Year 6s completed their Music unit, β€œSongs of World War 2”, and what a journey it has been!
Throughout the unit, the children have been working hard to sing confidently together, learning to identify different pitches within an octave and exploring how harmonies work when voices are combined.

For their final performance, the children sang β€œWhite Cliffs of Dover”, beautifully accompanied by our very talented instrumentalists which was kindly written by Mrs Walton and rehearsed during their music tuition. It was wonderful to see the pupils supporting one another and performing with such confidence and musicality.

It was also lovely to see parents there to watch their children perform. Thank you for your continued support!

A big thank you to our wonderful Mental Health Practitioner, Lucy, who delivered a fantastic workshop with our Year 6 children today on managing difficult emotions. πŸ’¬

The session gave the children valuable strategies to help them recognise and cope with challenging feelings, supporting their wellbeing as they continue to grow and learn. We are very grateful for Lucy’s time, care and expertise in helping our pupils develop these important life skills. πŸ’™πŸ’›

🌼 A Beautiful Act of Kindness 🌼

Scarlett, in Year 6, has decided to share daffodils with people around school to brighten their day and celebrate friendship. Such a simple, thoughtful gesture, yet it has brought so many smiles and moments of joy to our school community.

Through this kind act, Scarlett is truly living out our mission of β€œLearning to live out our calling with compassion and love.” By thinking of others and spreading happiness, she reminds us how powerful even the smallest acts of kindness can be.

We are so proud of the care and compassion shown by our pupils each day. Thank you, Scarlett, for bringing a little extra sunshine to St Mary’s. πŸŒΌπŸ’›
