✨ Year 6 – Celebrating Our Young Journalists! ✨
For the past two weeks, Year 6 have been diving into the world of interviews in English. As part of their homework, each pupil interviewed someone special to them, gathering real stories and meaningful memories to inspire their writing.
Today, the children became budding future journalists, proudly publishing their work by inviting their interviewee into school to listen to their finished piece! It was a wonderful opportunity for the pupils to share their writing, build confidence and celebrate the people who inspire them most.
Well done, Year 6 – fantastic speaking, listening and writing skills on display! ✍️🎙️

🎭 Readers’ Theatre Fun! 🎭
Today, Year 6 took part in an echo reading extravaganza, with Mr Wyse, exploring accents, dialects and character voices! We spun the magic wheel on the board to discover our next voice challenge – from RP accents to baby voices! The children absolutely loved Mr Wyse’s hilarious modelling and can’t wait for the next round of voice acting fun!

✏️🖍️ The Day the Crayons Quit 🖍️✏️
Before half term, each class focused on the text The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt. Inspired by the book, the children wrote a letter from the perspective of an item they either overuse or underuse. Today in assembly, an author from each class shared their published piece. From tablets to skates, these personified items had truly had enough.
We were blown away by not only the amazing writing but also the fabulous storytelling – we were on the edge of our seats. A huge congratulations to our budding authors. We are so proud of you.
Check out their fantastic stories below!

📚 Today, Year 6 proudly took part in their Catholic Life Pledge, focusing on restocking the Woodland Library by exploring Newcastle’s many charity shops! This thoughtful initiative not only helped support local charities but also promoted sustainability as part of CAFOD’s Live Simply campaign. The children managed to source an incredible 262 books for our school library! After a busy afternoon of shopping and carrying bags full of stories, they enjoyed a well-deserved drink to celebrate their hard work. A huge thank you to our wonderful PTFA for funding this meaningful project.
While out and about, the children met a member of staff from Cancer Research UK who was amazed by their kindness, enthusiasm and dedication to our Catholic Life Pledge – a lovely moment that made the day even more special! 📚 #year6stm #catholiclifestm #readingstm #readingforpleasurestm #ptfastm #CAFOD … See MoreSee Less

🌟 Playground Fun with Years 5 & 6! 🌟
Years 5 and 6 have been learning all about playing together and enjoying classic playground games – including Duck, Duck, Goose, Basketball with Mr Wyse, What Time Is It Mr Wolf?, Big Fat Pony, and Stuck in the Mud! 🏀🐺🦆
They also joined Maria and Milly for a fun-filled dance workout that got everyone moving and smiling.
It was fantastic to get out in the fresh air, learn to play kindly and enjoy some great teamwork and laughter together!
