In tandem with their history unit, World War II, Year 6 have been learning about wartime songs in music! They have been exploring how music boosted morale and how songs from WWI and WWII can be compared and contrasted. Today, they performed The White Cliffs of Dover by Vera Lynn and sang it beautifully. We are so proud of them! π°ποΈππΆβ¨ #year6stm #musicstm #historystm … See MoreSee Less

In our Celebration of God's Gifts Assembly, we launched our newly designed certificates and the children absolutely love them! This included our prestigious Pen Licences that the children went wild for.
Itβs been fantastic to see how proud and excited they are to earn and receive them. A lovely way to celebrate effort, progress and achievement across the school.
Well done to all of this week's winners!

A special well done to Trish, who has reached an outstanding 2,000,000 words. This is a fantastic achievement and shows real commitment to reading.

The children have had a fantastic time during their D&T unit creating their very own steady hand games.
Throughout the project, they carefully considered form, function and how enjoyable their game would be for the user. It was wonderful to see their creativity, problem-solving skills and perseverance shine as their designs developed over time. They also effectively drew upon their science knowledge of circuits to create the contact buzzer that went inside the game.
Mr Parker had the very tough job of judging all the games and deciding which best met the criteria – no easy task with such high-quality entries!
π Congratulations to our winners:
β’ Kim and Bianca in St. Peter
β’ Nidiya and Lara in St. Rita
The design of your games was truly amazing.
Well done to everyone involved! π

After Year 6βs inspiring visit to Staffordshire Libraries, where Terry read Dr. Seussβ The Grinch to usπ, our imaginations were sparked! We carried that excitement straight into our writing lesson, creating poems inspired by the story and the way it was read.βοΈ
Later in the week, we brought The Grinch to life in Readersβ Theatre, performing a scene from the storyπ. We focused on using expression and matching our tone to each character and the performances were fantastic! π
A huge thank you to Terry and Newcastle Library for sparking our creativity! Take a look at some of our amazing poems below β we are so proud of the innovation and effort everyone showed! β¨

Tonight it was the turn of Years 4, 5 and 6 to hit the dance floor for their Christmas disco and what a night it was. The hall was full of festive cheer, great music and lots of smiling faces as everyone danced, laughed and celebrated together.
The children had a fabulous time and truly got into the Christmas spirit. A huge thank you to our brilliant PTFA for organising such a fantastic event and making it a night to remember.
