This week, our Year 4 scientists had a fantastic time exploring sound! We investigated how the thickness, length and tightness of strings can change the pitch of a sound. There were lots of curious minds, careful listening and plenty of excitement as the children tested different strings and discovered how sounds can be high or low. #year4stm #sciencestm See MoreSee Less

Year 2 were visited by Liv from Adv4nce Group today as part of our Science unit, Animals Including Humans. She taught us all about what it means to be fit and healthy.
We learned about the importance of exercise, a balanced diet, keeping hydrated, getting enough sleep, and how good personal hygiene helps keep our bodies healthy too.
Thank you so much for inspiring us to make healthy choices, Liv! 💙 #year2stm #sciencestm

Year 2 were visited

The children have had a fantastic time during their D&T unit creating their very own steady hand games.

Throughout the project, they carefully considered form, function and how enjoyable their game would be for the user. It was wonderful to see their creativity, problem-solving skills and perseverance shine as their designs developed over time. They also effectively drew upon their science knowledge of circuits to create the contact buzzer that went inside the game.

Mr Parker had the very tough job of judging all the games and deciding which best met the criteria – no easy task with such high-quality entries!

🎉 Congratulations to our winners:
• Kim and Bianca in St. Peter
• Nidiya and Lara in St. Rita

The design of your games was truly amazing.
Well done to everyone involved! 👏

As part of their Science about sound, Year 4 were given an extra special task by Mrs Mellor to investigate which material worked best for soundproofing. They had lots of fun testing different materials such as tin foil, shredded paper, tissue and cotton wool. The children worked like real scientists by making predictions before each test and carefully observing the results. #sciencestm #year4stm See MoreSee Less
