Year 2 have been learning about The Great Fire of London. After our fire demonstration, we thought we’d create a Newsround on what we’d learnt in our History unit. #year2stm #historystm #oracystm … See MoreSee Less

Year 2 were visited by Liv from Adv4nce Group today as part of our Science unit, Animals Including Humans. She taught us all about what it means to be fit and healthy.
We learned about the importance of exercise, a balanced diet, keeping hydrated, getting enough sleep, and how good personal hygiene helps keep our bodies healthy too.
Thank you so much for inspiring us to make healthy choices, Liv! 💙 #year2stm #sciencestm … See MoreSee Less

Back in December, Year 2 used their oracy skills to act out scenes from Toby and The Great Fire of London. They worked in small groups to role play different events and discussed new vocabulary like chronological, ensuring the scenes were acted out in the correct order. #year2stm #historystm … See MoreSee Less

Year 2 have had a very exciting afternoon! Our current history topic is The Great Fire of London and over the Christmas break the children were set a task to create their own Tudor houses.
Today we were lucky to have a very special visitor — Mr Lazenby a real firefighter! Mr Lazenby helped Mrs Holdway to put out the fire as we re-enacted how the fire spread from the bakery on Pudding Lane. It was great fun to watch and really helped bring our learning to life.
Afterwards the children enjoyed a question-and-answer session with Mr Lazenby where they learned more about his job and how firefighters keep us safe.

This week Year 2 had a hot chocolate afternoon as part of their Catholic Life Pledge to raise money for CAFOD’s opperation Christmas Child. We created two Christmas boxes for children in more need than ourselves. Thank you for your generosity! #year2stm #catholiclifestm … See MoreSee Less

🎁The Present🎁
Last week, each class was inspired by the arrival of a mysterious present delivered to their classroom. The children explored the temptation of opening their gifts early, where they might find it and imagined who they might bump into along the way as they tried to resist.
Today, in assembly, one author from each class shared their published piece. From unexpected encounters to moments of suspense, the stories were packed with tension, humour and brilliant imagination.
We were completely captivated by the children’s writing and storytelling and listened in anticipation to every word. A huge congratulations to our budding authors. We are incredibly proud of you.
Take a look at their fantastic stories below!
