At St. Mary’s, we are constantly adding to our fabulous collection of books! We regularly host Scholastic Book Fairs, which enables us to earn new books for our school library throughout the school year.
Every lunchtime, from Tuesday to Friday, each year group has a library slot when they can visit the library and read with their friends. The children are able to browse books from a variety of genres and cultures to spark their enjoyment of reading! Here, at St. Mary’s, we have responsible library ambassadors who look after our library and manage our ‘Book Hospital’.
KS2 pupils are able to select their own home reading books from the library as a vast selection of our books are compatible with the Accelerated Reader scheme. All these books are banded so that the children have a range of books to select from within their reading level.
